Iwona

Creating has been my passion and a part of my daily routine for decades. When in 2014 Iwona Luka – Speaking of Lace got established I focused my attention on crochet lace design for fashion. It was indeed an engaging and very much informative period of my life on many levels. Designing also along with learning a lot about a business, and developing skills within the wide range of my interests just got me missing one, essential aspect for a creator and designer. A workshop!

And this part became a project in itself. Gathering thoughts, and considering options not leaving away dreams and preferences brought me to Cullera in Valencia.

Sylwia

In 2013, I had the opportunity to travel around Southeast Asia, where I stayed in many guest houses. I quickly noticed how they offered a welcoming, cozy atmosphere that felt much more personal than the larger hotel chains. This “home away from home” feeling left a lasting impression on me, and I’ve dreamed ever since of being able to offer that same comfort to others.

With a creative spirit and a love for photography, I had an instinctive sense that Casa de Koras could be the place where I could turn that dream into reality. From the moment I first saw it, I felt it had the potential to create that special feeling I had come to cherish during my travels.

Colaboration

Taking the bull by the horns!

With life happening—whether it was a broken heart, reached limits of a bad weather, or simply the need for significant change to do something for ourselves—we set out on an adventure to find a place in the world that would allow us to put an end to the overwhelming stagnation and let us grow on every possible level.

Since we are not only sisters but best friends with a shared creative spirit, we immediately agreed on the lovely idea of bringing our two ends together. ‘Home away from home’ met ‘creative arts and crafts gallery.

Why Valencia? Why Cullera? A lot of factors contributed to this decision. Now, however, it is part of history.
